TV station Branding is not Just a LOGO ! The first step for any channel Branding before creating the Look and feel for the channel and creating the guide-line for the programs and the shows even the speaking-word of their presenters style, look and language. colors or animation the owners of the channel should ask them self somequestions before deciding to give an order to create a logo for the chan- nel and buying a space segment to air their programs . Your LOGO definition will serve as your measur- ing stick in evaluating any and all marketing materials and strategies. You will begin this process by answering the questions below. What is your TV station about? Define the qualities and what is your channel offers between all those channels on air ? What are the core values of your channel? What are the core values of your Programs? What is the mission of your Channel ? What does your TV specializes in? Who is your target market (age and gender of the viewrs )? Who do your Programs and shows attract? What is the tagline of your channel? What message does your tagline send to your prospects ? what is your budget for the promotional stratigy (Branding and out door marketing ) Why some channels look beautifull and some ugly ? By understanding those questions you can start thinking of you channel look and feel as you will start understanding the target audi- ence and viewrs and dont forget about the culture and the mintalities of your region’s people and are they gonna understand the ideas of your Branding? are they gonna react and love it ? 2nd step is to make the first draft of your guide- line. logo, colors palates , and bumpers. Programes guide line and the percentage of the kind of the shows : Example : News 20% , family matters 20% sport 10% , youth 40% , promotion 10% 3d step after creating convincing look ask your self : Is the personality of your channel innovative, creative, energectic, or sophisticated? Use the personality that you created in the previous step and build a relationship with your target market. How does that personality react to target audience? What characteristics stand out? Which characteristics and qualities get the attention of your prospects. Review the answers to the questions above and create a profile of your brand. Describe the personality or character with words just as if you were writing a biography or personal ad. Be creative. The objectives that a good channel will achieve include: - Delivers the message clearly - Confirms your credibility - Connects your target prospects emotionally - Concretes viewer Loyalty •Advice dont change in your branding for the first year , keep upgrading the shows ideas every 3 months , and keep open comunication line between the audience and your channel. keep the Creative department updated connected to the marketing department , and trust them as they are your wepon of mass creation, they will keep your channel fresh and acceptable. @Bashar A.
