TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE GAME DAY Twas the night before Game Day and all through C-House, Players better be studying playbooks, as I speak with my spouse! Soon we will know if well be making a trip, To play in La Ronge, for the NLSD Championship. Im curious to know, whats in our players heads, Are they thinking of victory, and all of their street creds? I wonder if they even know how proud we all are, Of all of the things, that theyve accomplished so far? Win or lose, your heroes in our eyes! Though this season hasnt always been sunny days and blue skies, Youve dug down deep to win when required, And demonstrated character, and not quit and retired. With heads held high and footballs tucked tight, Well play hard tomorrow, am I not right???!!! Well play and give it our all, and we will not quit, Well focus on inches, contain, our fundamentals, and the big hit! Weve won against Sandy, Pinehouse and even us, And endured some foul smells, on that old football bus! What can defeat us, if we choose to win? Who can beat us, I ask you, with a grin? They are great athletes, these Islanders of ours, We work as a team, and we reach for the stars! Weve all played a role, and should be proud, From the players, to coaches, and especially, the crowd! Without one another, who knows where wed be?! When we lean on one another, we win regardless, dont you see?! Weve helped to bring football, to northern Sask, And in a few years, kids may trick-or-treat in an Islanders mask! Well stick with our plan and execute without fear, From the D to the O, well allow nothing to interfere. Remember your training, young Jedis - May The Force Be With You! Oh, and contain, block and run hard, too! Dont even worry, about making mistakes, Not even super models, look great without re-takes! One hit em high, and one hit em low, And Linebackers scrape, and to the ball, flow! From runs to stretch plays, fakes, reverses and bombs, Do it for us, Tyrone, Skyler and Thommes! Day after day, we could count on them in a pinch! Those guys would tell you, dont give up an inch! We know we have the talent, to get this stuff done, Weve practiced (well......a little!!!!!), play hard and have fun! No matter what happens, no cranky faces, ok?! Like Seuss said, Youre off to great places! Youre off, and away! Believe in yourself and all that you are, And you better believe, that together, well go far! Know that there is something inside you, greater than any barrier, Hey, weve got Mia, Bam, Glenn, Jason and even Michael Carriere! I want to hear everyone cheering for Ethan, Rayden, Clem and Randy For Devrii, and for Denzel, Nelson, and Chomps - what a dandy! Cheer for Kevyn and of, course, there is also Ferris! For Peter, for Hunter, Tyrel, Georgie, and Preston?! Embarrass!! Ok, Here We Go! Tomorrows Game Day! Get yourselves in the right mindset, get jacked to play! Pretty sure weve got this, but of course its up to you! Get ready, get on that field, and do what you do!
