TWELVE-YEAR TRIAL A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. - Mark 5:25 (NLT) Twelve years! Twelve long, frustrating, confusing, and painful years of suffering from an incurable illness. Thats the ordeal this poor woman had been going through as Gods Word introduces her to us. To put her trial in perspective, thats waking up 4,380 mornings and wondering if this was the day she would be set free from her infirmity... and 4,380 days of desperation and disappointment. At some point, the questions must have started wedging their way into her heart the same way water seeps into a sinking ship. Is this how its always going to be? Am I ever going to get better? How long is this going to last? She had tried all the doctors and none of them were able to help her. She had exhausted every earthly avenue. She had reached her breaking point, willing to go anywhere and try anything. Then word reached her that a man who had miraculously healed many sick people was passing through her town. At this point, what did she have to lose? Driven by her twelve-year trial, this woman reached out and made contact with her Creator: She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe... - (Mark 5:27 NLT) We know what happened next. Christ healed her and brought an end to her seemingly endless ordeal. But heres what cant miss: If she hadnt been through this twelve-year trial, she never would have reached out to Jesus. In many cases, God allows us to experience trials of titanic proportions because thats what its going to take to lead us to that one moment where we reach out to Him in total desperation. If you’re in the midst of a great trial, keep the faith and stay in prayer, God will come through. IN HIS TIME!! Have a great day! by Cup O’Cheer ([email protected])
