TWENTY-TWO years ago today, I was barely 18 and just a few months out of high school. I had my car packed full and I hit the road to what I planned to be a year (maybe 2?) away from home. I had enrolled in a college in MS and decided to go on down a month early to settle in. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon when I left and I was FREE! Since my dorm wasnt to open up till mid August I had planned on staying with my aunt and uncle until then. What I didnt know was that every Sunday night my uncle would have a couple buddies over for supper. I remember driving up and my aunt coming out to greet me and being introduced to this really (really) cute guy! By the time he left that night he had already put a grin on my face thats still here today. Two days later he called and asked me on a date and three days after that picked me up in a borrowed corvette with flowers in hand. In less than three months he proposed and six months after that we were married! It hasnt quiet been the fairy tale most girls dream of, more like living in a bed of roses. Weve shared many sweet moments along with sticking each other with the sharpest, most painful, thorns one could imagine. Our highs and lows have made for a heck of a ride and theyve produced memories and lessons that we each will hang on to forever. I thank God for putting us in each others path that day! Even though Our story might not be the most traditional, exciting, by the book, kind of Love Story.... Its the here and now that matters! #GlorytoGod
