TWO FORCES. . . Beloved, regarding every blood-bought child of God, there are ever two forces that are constantly at work in their lives and the lack of knowledge concerning this great truth has shipwrecked the faith of many a Saint of God. One of those forces is the natural or the human force and the other is the supernatural or the divine force. And because the divine force often operates quietly, slowly and in the background with an emphasis upon the ultimate as opposed to the human force which thrives on the dramatic and the spectacular with an emphasis upon the immediate, it appears to many then that the human forces at work in their lives are in charge and will prevail. But beloved, when you connect with this truth; when you can come to know of the divine presence which is working out a divine purpose in your life, you will be able to rejoice regardless of how overwhelming the human forces may appear. John found himself banished upon the lonely rock Isle called Patmos, alienated and separated from all that he held dear. The human forces or reason, we know, behind John being there was because of the evil heart of Domitian, the Roman Emperor who sentenced him there. Now, if all John had was the human reason, I would imagine that life for him would have been most miserable. But John had more; he had the divine reason as well. And this divine reason was that John had a date with Jesus. Now this divine reason of a date or meeting with Jesus was communicated to John by Jesus himself. Following Jesus prophetic utterance to Peter that he would die by crucifixion as well (John 21:18-19) nosy John wanted to know from Jesus how was John to die to which Jesus replied If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. This is a direct acknowledgement that John would be alive when Jesus came and beloved that coming took place on Patmos Isle. (Revelation 1:10-11) Beloved John knew that even though Domitian and his human forces appeared to be in charge, it was his God with his supernatural forces who was really in charge. and this knowledge had John, when Jesus did show up for the meeting, in the spirit on the Lords day. In other words, John was having a praise party all my himself. Can I suggest to you beloved, that there are two forces working itself out in your lives too - the human and the divine and that if you ever bear this truth in mind and not be so quick to move when all you have is the human reasoning for what you are going through, you too will find yourself as was John; in the Spirit, not just on the Lords day though but every day. . . and not having a pity party mind you, but a praise party. . .Be blessed!
