TWO MPs and several MCAs have vowed to work with Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama to develop the county. MPs Ben Momanyi (Borabu) and James Gesami (West Mugirango) denied claims that they are fighting the governor. “Let me make it very clear in the governors presence that I’m not fighting him. We want to join hands in developing the county,” said Gesami. Speaking at Kebuse Primary School in Borabu during the burial of the governor’s daughter Catherine Nyagarama on Friday, Momanyi said leaders from the county should put aside their differences for development. “We should talk to each other. As a county assembly we are working closely with the executive and national government,” assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko said. Nyagarama said he will work with other leaders regardless of their political affiliations. “I’m ready to work with other leaders because at the end of the day, we are going to be asked what we have done for the electorate,” he said. Minority leader Jackson Mogusu said the assembly will continue to support the governor in terms of legislation. Former MPs Walter Nyambati, Mwancha Okioma and Henry Obwocha said they will support Nyagarama. “Even if my victory was stolen in the last election, we should stop backbiting elected leaders,” said Nyambati. - See more at: the-star.co.ke/news/article-187578/mps-pledge-support-nyagarama#sthash.QX1RAj2H.dpuf
