July 27th, 1-5 pm Finding Authenticity Through Nature Anita Halstead This Hestia gathering will be held at Anita’s home and garden in Dockton. It will focus on expanding your observational skills, encouraging reflective thinking, trusting intuitive healing and finding inspiration through a meditative labyrinth walk, a tour of the award winning, half-acre garden, an historic beach hunt, and a simple art experience. Anita Halstead has had a rich and varied career history. In her senior year at the UW she was recruited by the CIA to analyze research data in Washington DC; after five years, she returned to the NW to raise a family and earn a Masters Degree in Creative Education. She became an arts educator and creativity consultant for hundreds of organizations throughout the country. When she retired in 2005, she was the Director of Education at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. She has lived on Vashon with her husband since 2000 and has been actively involved in the community. August 3rd, 1-4 pm Awakening Your Holistic Intelligence Caroline Peani Discover somatics : the practice of aligning your body with your intellect, your emotional sense, and your intuition. In this workshop, Caroline will lead standing and movement exercises to build somatic awareness, explore your tendencies and opportunities, and practice mind/body integration. You’ll have opportunities for reflection and sharing, and youll leave with practices you can do at home to continue your journey toward awakening holistic intelligence. Working for over 15 years as a business leader, Caroline recognized the cost that professionals pay in striving to be successful, sacrificing relationships and their own happiness for external recognition. As a Strozzi Institute Somatic Coach, she offers her clients an alternative, whether they are leaders of organizations or leaders of their lives. By awakening the emotional and intuitive intelligences and using them holistically with the intellect, her clients find power in relaxation, build influence through their presence, and deepen relationships through emotional connection. She lives in the woods on Vashon, where she finds inspiration and joy on her budding homestead with her husband and two children.
