TWO days to go until second ticket sales phase ends. There is less than 2 days to go before the second ticket sales phase for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ ends at 12.00 CET/09.00 BRT (Brasilia time) on Thursday, 30 January 2014. To date, almost 3 million requests have been received during the current sales phase, with nearly 700,000 of those coming from fans outside of Brazil. All football supporters who apply by next Thursday (before 12.00 CET/09.00 BRT) have the same chance of obtaining tickets as those who have already applied, as all requests made throughout this sales phase are collected together and drawn on a lottery basis if the number of requests exceeds the tickets available. Fans have the chance to apply for tickets for 62 out of the 64 matches (the exceptions are the opening game in São Paulo and the final in Rio de Janeiro). The electronic random selection draw will be conducted during the month of February 2014 and supervised by representatives from the Caixa Econômica Federal and the Brazilian Ministry of Sports, as well as a public notary. The overall draw procedure has been structured in such a way that tickets returned by other stakeholders such as participating teams, hospitality rights holders, media rights licensees and marketing affiliates will be included in the random selection draw to ensure that more ticket requests from the general public can be fullfilled. All applicants will be informed by e-mail or SMS as to whether or not their application was successful – either partially or in full – by 11 March 2014. In order to ensure that the overall draw process can be concluded in time ahead of the start of the next sales phase, it was decided to postpone the start of the next period by 2 weeks. Therefore the next sales phase, which will be on a first-come-first-served basis, will commence on 12 March 2014 at 12.00 CET/08.00 BRT. FIFA would like to remind all ticket buyers to ensure that they have sufficient funds available on their credit card to pay for their requested tickets, because payment for successful applications will be processed immediately and in cases of failed payments, the ticket request will be cancelled and the reserved tickets will be offered to other fans. Fans can conveniently choose to have their tickets delivered to their home by courier service. However, ticket buyers must select this delivery method in their ticket accounts on FIFA/tickets before 30 January 2014. Due to the significant operational complexity of ticket printing and worldwide shipment, delivery services may not be requested after 30 January 2014. If the delivery option is requested, tickets successfully applied for and fully paid for will then be delivered to the address supplied by the applicant in the weeks ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. For security reasons, the ticket delivery/collection process will not begin until April 2014, in line with the opening dates of the FIFA Venue Ticketing Centres in the Host Cities. FIFA would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that FIFA is the exclusive sales platform for tickets for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™. FIFA has not appointed any company to act as its agent for the sale of match tickets. Supporters are strongly recommended not to buy tickets through other channels as there is a high risk that the tickets purchased will not only be overpriced but are very likely to be invalid or not exist at all. As mentioned above, for security reasons, tickets will only be available for collection in April when the FIFA Venue Ticketing Centres will open. Until then, there are no physical tickets in circulation.
