TWT PURE PASSION FUN DAY: Tuesday 24th September 2013 “Getting different forms of motorsport competitors and spectators together” MSA Drag racing (main straight) plus various circuit categories on the half main from 9am till 5pm On Tuesday 24th September, the WPMC will be running the seventh round of the WPMC Drag racing championship. To add to this event the organisers and Tiger Wheel and Tyre, along with the help of club members like Zack Groenewald and Lynton Di Meola, are arranging a “pure passion fun day” at the half main circuit side of the facility. Groups to be accommodated include Stockcars, Drifting, Circuit cars (Clubmans and GTi Challenge), Streetcar Track Day sessions and Scooters. As this is a fun day there will be no official results or awards handed out however the organisers will have spot prizes for drivers who entertain the crowds the most (or maybe hard luck type trophies, longest slide, etc). While the MSA Drag racing will run from about 9am, the half main circuit action will start with practice from about 10am with events starting at noon and running till about 4pm. All drivers will be required to hold current MSA competition licences. A R150 “one event” licence is available however drivers will require proof of their own medical insurance or MSA medical cover is available at R150 for cars and R250 for motorcycles / scooter competitors. The entry fee for all participants will be R100, excluding any MSA licence and medical cover costs. Tiger Wheel and Tyre will be providing food and music for the drivers at the half main and other food stalls will be available for the general public. Car clubs will be invited to display their club cars on the outside of turns 2 and 3 with an opportunity to do a parade lap around the half main circuit. There will also be kiddies entertainment, these should both add nicely to the event. At the end of the day fires will be lit and fun prizes will be handed out, this will give the drivers and their supporters a chance to socialise and share their on-track stories from the day’s session. Admission on the day will be R45 per person, kiddies under the age of 12 years old get in for free.
