TY for the new Winthrop calendar...So nice to see Roland Lavallees, Roger Audets, Marion Healey, Buster, our neighbor Annie Skomro, and others... *L-O-V-E the month of March page in the 2015 Winthrop Historical Society calendar...Aunt Helen...& cuz Carlo - in the back of Abellis Fruit Store - a/k/a Helens... -Also, the mention of Cobbs Farm! In the 1800s and early 1900s, Winthrop was a great dairy area, famous for its Jersey herds. By 1970, only 2 large farms were left: Richard & Willis Cobbs on the Old Lewiston Rd., and the Woolworth Estate Farms on Rte. 135.
