TZM London chapter meeting had a positive response on Saturday and was very engaging with about 30 of us. We learnt quite a bit about time banks since we had a couple of people that currently work with them in London. With the new venue it was very convenient right next to Liverpool Street station. The pub function room was excellent with enough room for seating 70 people, having our own private bar and best of all, it was free (as long as people bought drinks). I’ll try to book the same room again for next month. The thorough understandings of TZM that we spoke up about, I think cleared up many misconceptions that people had, enhancing their knowledge of what creates social sustainability. I just want to point out that these meetings serve as just one part of the awareness that needs to happen, engaging the public about why current social problems exist and what change is needed to overcome them. If there were meetings all over the UK that would give a clear and accurate understanding of what TZM is advocating with respect to sustainability and what that comprises it, that would be an incredible achievement. No matter how hard things are, if I can elevate someone to a higher degree of understanding, then I think a unique accomplishment is reached.
