Ta2dlam ~ Metal History 19 years ago on this date, Sepultura released Chaos A.D. While some may cite Arise, Roots, or even Beneath the Remains as their best album (or something post-Max but thats preposterous) I find I return to Chaos A.D. more than any other. An ascending heartbeat turns into a great tribal beat for Refuse/Resist which is a call to arms for all of those oppressed...or just pissed off...around the world. This sets the pace for what is less of a thrash album and more straight heavy ass metal as they refined what Sepultura was as a band. Andreas Kisser and Max created some of the most notable and killer riffs together and there is no denying Igor set a new standard for drumming with the addition of their native influences.
