Tactical Karambit - weapon retention tool part two. Imagin someone has grabbed you from behind in a choke hold and is going for your gun. Scary thought isnt it, hopefully you are carrying your weapon in a holster designed to prevent a snatch and grab. If so this will buy you time to deploy your karambit. With your gun hand grab the arm around your neck drop your body weight with your knees in a horse stance. With your support hand deploy your karambit and thrust back down into his thigh or reach back behind his knee and cut his tendon. Once you feel his grasp loosen or release turn and cut any target offered as you create distance. Once distance is achieved draw your pistol and prepare to fire if needed. This is just but one of many ways to deploy the karambit in a weapon retention scenario. Note: You must have a weapon retention holster to do the above tactic, once your weapon is grabbed you have fractions of a second to respond. If you do not have a weapon retention holster then you will have to use your gun hand to hold your weapon in place and most likely your hand will be on top of his. You can still do the tactic as before mentioned except now you will need to pull down on his arm around your throat with your support hand. After you have gotten his arm off your throat enough that you can slip your chin inside between your throat and his arm you can deploy your karambit. Understand this is easier said than done, you will be slung around and maybe even taken to the ground. Learn empty hand skills find someone you can practice with and as Ernest Emerson says, Train like a md man an fight like a demon. Stay safe.
