Tagged by Kartik Khazanchi to list 10 movies that have stayed with me. Possibly as revenge for the booklist. Anyhow, here goes: 1. Seven - First English movie watched in a multiplex. Err, and the Gwyneth Paltrow head-in-a -box thing. 2. Batman/Dark Knight - The original Batman was the first movie I ever watched in a theatre, at the tender age of 7. Thank you, mon parents, for allowing Jack Nicholsons Joker to traumatize me until Heath Ledger came along and blew it out of the water. 3. Cinema Paradiso - Long, winding, and utterly enthralling. Much like Italy itself. 4. Last Action Hero - The movie that definitely proved that the worse the movie the better the soundtrack. Garden State and Singles are runners up in this category. 5. Sliver - My introduction to wait, wimmen get nekkid in films???? 6. Wait Until Dark - The first Terence Young I saw, and for me always the most terrifying movie ever. 7. Sholay- Well, because of Amjad Khan, mostly. 8. 2010: A Space Odyssey: The college stoners first and best woooaaaaaah movie. 9. Monty Python and the holy Grail: The best of a great bunch. The African swallow vs the European swallow still cracks me up. And tell me again, Sir Bedevere, how sheeps bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes. 10. Kenneth Branaghs Hamlet: A four hour long visual treat. Even my brother, who detested Shakespeare, sat through the entire thing without a peep, and desultorily muttered at the end, ok, so not that bad. Anyone else want to give it a go?
