If that is your image of Jesus, you probably have a tough time reconciling it with His statement that He didn’t “come to bring peace, but a sword.” One reason kaya pinipilit nating paniwalain ang ating mga sarili sa image na bata ang Panginoon dahil ginusto natin ang imahe ng pagiging walang malay niya sa ating mga nagagawang kasalanan, iniiwas natin ang ating mga sarili sa katotohanang ang Panginoong ito ay isang panginoon na kailangang pagsulitan ng ating buhay sa hayag man o sa lihim na bahagi nito. Well i want you to Know that throughout the New Testament the word “sword” is used to describe the Word of God, not a military weapon. Ephesians tells us of “The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” And again in Hebrews, the Word of God teaches us about itself: “For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Kaya lagi kong binabanggit sa mga sermon na kung hindi ka nasasaktan sa mensahe ng salita ng Dios sa simbahang iyong dinadaluhan ibig sabihin nyan walang kapangyarihan ang salita ng Dios sa buhay mo. and if your intention of attending churches is just to be entertained kilalanin mo na sa araw na ito kinakausap ka ng salita ng Dios na tigilan mo na ang ginagawa mo dahil mararanasan mo ang sakit ng parusa ng salita ng DIos. The image of the sword is a powerful way to explain how the Word of God pierces our hearts, exposing us for who we are. The Word is so powerful that it exposes our real desires, our real thoughts, our sinfulness. Subalit bagamat inihahayag ng salita ng Dios ang ating mga kasalanan wag nating kalimutan na katulad ng scalpel in the hands of the Great Physician, it shows us the way of ultimate healing. Masakit, tagos sa buto, iiwanan tayong nagiisip at maghahamon upang tayo ay magdesisyon subalit ito ang magbibigay ng tunay na kapayapaan at kagalingan ng ating buhay Espiritwal.
