#TahirulQadri ne Chief of Army staff ko letter likh dia, Mazeed janne k liye page visit kren: faceboo/VoteForPAT.Official LAHORE: PAT chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has written a letter to the Chief of the Army Staff and many top government officials demanding a number of measures to uproot terrorism, including reforming religious seminaries with unified syllabus and ban on foreign funding, replacing anti terrorism courts with military courts, and heavy punishment for backing and praising the accused of terrorism. The letter, which contain his 14-point agenda for eliminating terrorism, as he announced a couple of days ago, was also sent to other officials, including DG ISI, DG MI, Joint Chief of Staff Committee, President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, all the chief ministers, governors, foreign ministry and interior ministry. The letter demanded the joint sitting of parliament declare the war against terrorism as ‘our war’ and ‘National War on Terrorism’, identities of terrorists involved in terrorist activities over the last 12 years be made public, effective legislation be made for life sentencing those supporting, cooperating terrorists and giving statements in their favour. The letter said roots of terrorism lie in sectarianism, extremism and excommunicating Muslims therefore issuance of fatwas that declare others non- Muslims should be banned, the current anti- terrorism courts being used for political purposes be replaced by military courts with power of deciding cases in one week. It said curriculum of seminaries be made uniform to eliminate the impression of seminaries as a potential breeding ground for terrorism and violating the curriculum must be punishable, foreign funding of Madrassas and religious parties and individuals be banned, peace Education Centres be established to prevent terrorists from brainwashing people. Hate literature should be banned, military should be better equipped, special institutions/rehabilitation centres be established to educate and take care of orphan children victims of terrorism, drone attacks or military operations against terrorism in tribal areas, Balochistan, KP and other areas. After completing education they should be given special grants and employment to prevent them going again into the hands of militants and become suicide bombers, poverty and unemployment and exploitation should be eliminated through effective economic development of backward areas particularly Northern areas, South Punjab and tribal regions, and all banned groups be prevented from working with new and fake names.
