Take a good long look at yourself. See the beauty in the shades of soft calming gold and blue? Of course you don’t, that’s how life is and that’s why I’m here. So that every time you shed a tear, I can mix it with my words and turn it into a reluctant smile of acceptance, that someone out there thinks your smile is stronger than the words of those who try to wipe it away, and is a thousand times more beautiful than the very souls of those who live that way. So that every time you feel like the world is made of solid granite and its pushing its whole crumbling weight upon your shoulders, I can be there to show you how strong I can be for you, and carry the weight with you with a gentle smile and a pat to your head. So that when you feel like the waves are crashing around you, I can show you how beautiful the sun that day is. All of this and so much more, is so that you know you will never be alone to cry or hurt, because a smile like yours, one with compassion and strength, that makes the suns like dull with envy, should never have to be drowned by tears on loneliness and solitary despair. You do have a friend in me, and when you feel like the wolves are biting at your heels, you tell them that your friend is a dragon and she’ll burn them all away, just to keep you going and let you smile, even for a little while, because you are beautiful, but you take away the very breath of all around you when you smile, simply because you’re smile says it all. I know pain, but I also know love. I know fear, but I can still be brave. I’ve felt weak, but I’m still so strong. I’ve felt alone, but I never really will be. So take a good long look at yourself, and if you don’t see how beautiful you are, that’s ok, because I can see it for you, and tell you every day.
