Take a moment to appreciate this season’s hero piece… A piece that won the 2014 Best Design award at the 39th International Fur Fair of Kastoria. Creativity at its best! This is what happens when you combine fur with art. Imperia Furs & Leather was inspired by the curved lines of Art Nouveau (new art). An international philosophy and style of art, inspired by natural forms and structures. The designers produced a reversible double-face coat that from one side shows the classic beauty of Black NAFA pelts and from the other side shows the leather side that can be worn on the outside. Elena Manousar, a young talented artist decorated the leather side with the characteristic curves formed by dynamic, undulating, and flowing lines in a syncopated rhythm. The end result was a fur coat with a distinctive appearance and style, and it was proved that the fur industry can be another medium in which the style could find tremendous expression. Art Nouveau is an artistic stylistic movement and Greek designers interpreted it in their own manner.
