Take therefore no thought for the morrow: Life is fragile, so - TopicsExpress

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: Life is fragile, so handle it with prayer. We all should live each day as it would be our last, because believe it or not, it just might be. We have no guarantee from one moment to the next if we should live or if we should die. Nevertheless, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Rom 14:7,8 Therefore, we all should live each day as if we are dying. This means that we should be prepared to meet the Lord our God at all times. The scriptures instruct us to “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matt 6:34 This simply means that we are not to focus on what is not promised unto us, tomorrow, but rather be focused on what has been promised, the kingdom of heaven, which is today. Today is the day of Salvation, and we are commanded to seek it first and foremost, and not to take our eyes off the prize. 2 Cor 6:2 ff; Mt 6:33; Philip 3:14 We should never delay our salvation, not even for a second. Every human being upon this planet is here only by invitation only. We didn’t will ourselves to be born nor can we by our own will extend our life by even one second. Ps 100:3 So, don’t worry about what we shall eat or drink or the clothes we should wear, but rather seek heaven first. Why? Because our life is very short and even if we live for a 1,000 years, it soon will disappear. As James said, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14 The earth and all that is contained therein shall be burned up and remembered no more. 2 Pet 3:10-12 Therefore, for as long as God gives us life, let us labor for the Lord in whatever capacity we have been allotted. Let us obey the gospel and remain faithful to the doctrine of Christ. Rom 10:10 ff; Acts 2:38; Rev 2:10; 2 Jn 9 Let us study to be approved of God. 2 Tim 2:15 Let us preach in and out of season. 2 Tim 4:2-5 Let us worship in Spirit and in Truth. Jn 4:23,24 Let us pray without ceasing. 1 Thess 5:17 Let us do good unto all men. Gal 6:10 And let us continually be prepared to meet the Lord our God, for who knows the time or season when we shall appear before Him and give an account of our sins. 2 Cor 5:10 Remember, life is not about making ourselves happy, but rather making God happy because we served Him.
