Taken from the book: Psychic Perception ~ The Magic of Extrasensory Power. Author: Joseph Murphy Year: 1971 WHY IS THERE INEQUALITY AT BIRTH? Frequently I receive letters saying, Why is it some are born so poor and others born into the lap of luxury? Some children are terribly handicapped and others not? Many people are confused as to the meaning of rich and poor. Many people are poor in love, joy, faith, confidence, laughter and goodwill. Riches are of the mind. You are rich when you know you can tap the infinite and wisdom of your subconscious psychic mind and bring your desire to pass. You are rich when your mind is full of peace, joy, love, confidence, and faith in the goodness of God in the land of the living. Let us look at the case of Helen Keller. To say that her birth was an injustice or that she was being punished for a foul deed she had perpetrated on someone in a former life is wholly irrational, illogical, and most unscientific. Some say it was an injustice, because she was deprived of her sense of sight and hearing in infancy. She had a nurse, however, who used love and discipline, and Helen began to use the riches of her mind. Her eyes were enabled to see probably better than most people the color of all the full volume of orchestral music. She was aware of the clear notes of the lyric soprano. This is psychic perception. History reveals the countless others who had all manner of afflictions, physical defects, and financial handicaps, yet they accomplished outstanding achievements in science, art, music, industry, and religion. Think about the countless number of people born into the lap of luxury, perfect specimens of humanity, many born with the proverbial golden spoon in their mouths. Ask yourself if they have accomplished as much good or have risen to such greatness as did those we mentioned who were born with poverty, illness, deformity, and all manner of handicaps. Would you insist that all these men and women whom I have mentioned must return again and again in order to receive justice? E. Henley, tortured by pain and a lingering sickness, said: .......I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. Your soul is Spirit, and Spirit is God. In reality you are invulnerable and invincible. You are God walking the earth if you but exercise your psychic gift of perception.
