Taking Gods Warnings Seriously Romans 6:1-7 The warnings - TopicsExpress

Taking Gods Warnings Seriously Romans 6:1-7 The warnings given in Scripture regarding the believer and his responsibility to refrain from sin are abundant and clear. They are also compelling, for the Bible makes it clear that no one will get away with sin. Nevertheless, when we learn of individuals who have been involved in sin over extended period of time, we may tend to wonder how they can seemly continue in their sin without any consequences. But the fact is, they are not really getting away with anything. The Lord knows everything that a person does or thinks in great detail, as the author of Hebrews reveals: But all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do (Heb.4:13). Our omniscient God is fully aware of every thought we might have and every action we take. This fact definitely should give us pause when we have a sinful idea that comes to mind. Though we are sinners saved by Gods grace and washed in the blood of the Lamb, we are certainly not beyond temptation at any point in this earthly life. We all face specific enticements to sin on a daily basis, and, if we are not extremely careful about how we conduct ourselves (both in thought and deed), then we may succumb to them (1 Cor.10:13)-we must take Gods warning seriously! How can we avoid the entrapments of Satan? By listening to Gods counsel-His instruction Manual-and reading it on a daily basis. It is imperative that in this dark, social, moral, political, and economic climate, we take Gods Word to heart. The only way to do this is by repeatedly reading His Word to us and by following the counsel given in Romans six: to know and reckon and to yield everything to God.
