Taking a look again at The Neverending Story in HD on Amazon Prime and I think Im pretty much convinced that its probably one of the crowning cinematic achievements of the eighties. Im blown away by the way the filmmakers were able to tell a story of this magnitude and scope using only practical effects, makeup and puppetry. I seriously doubt anyone would be able to bring this story to the screen today in quite the same way. Amazing. I love this movie.
