Taking brightness for granted The craft in poetry writing comes - TopicsExpress

Taking brightness for granted The craft in poetry writing comes alive when you find young guys and girls, never been to any high school write stunning lines. There are poets who will never see the bright sides in the works of others. In their characteristic selves, they claimed greatness long before being published. When their works finally graced the shelves, the fire in their widely advertised greatness dims aloud. I know of performer poets who will never partake in a slam but pride themselves as the best to come from our land. They love to perform for the money and receive accolades from audiences oblivious of the nitty-gritty of poetry and poetry-performances. I know of great authors who will always win awards from foreign lands because they write to the delight of foreign judges only interested in promoting their style and their style alone. I know of many young and upcoming writers hoping to be published but hold an erroneous feeling that except ones book is published abroad, one would never get it right. They are largely blind to the good sides that abound here. So, whenever they find a book well-printed and packaged, they shout this couldnt have been printed here. Although we are gifted differently, skills deepen when not allowed to sleep. I am one of those who hold strongly that, theres a poet in all of us. But what we are not, lets not claim. What we aim for, lets not assume we already have. Recognizing the bright sides of life will shine the positive parts we habour.
