Taking my friend KC to Rady Childrens Hospital :) My friend KC needed to have blood drawn today. KC has Down Syndrome, and is terrified of having her blood drawn. The last time she did it, she was terrified and it took all her moms physical strength to restrain her to get it done. This time they had an idea... they asked me, Chopper, if I would go with KC. Of course I said YES!! I went and it made a BIG difference!! KC bravely walked me into the room, watched as I had blood drawn, (it was pretend...lol shhhhhh), to show KC that it will not hurt a bit :) . KC had a bit of a panic attack, but they were able to get the needle in with only a little bit of holding her arm. The moment the needle went in, she reached for me and KC was calmed instantly!!! We got it done with NOT a whole lot of crying. :) This was something new for me, going to Childrens Hospital and accompany a young person to the clinic to have blood drawn.... but I am sure it will not be the last :) BE SURE to watch KCs moms message at the end of this video clip Video: 5:25 length facebook/chopperthebikerdog
