Tala Mai.... can you help this lady? Leave your advice here. :) Dear Ask Ana, I was in a relationship with a Polynesian man for a few months and thought all was fine. I fell pregnant to him and that’s when things turned sour. I know this much that his family is religious and part of well known American founded church. I only met his brother and sister, but never his parents. He left me just before our son was born and told me he wasn’t ready to be a father. I thought that Polynesians were big on family. I have come to accept that he doesn’t want to be a father, but what about the rest of his family? Won’t his parents want to know they have a grandson? I was wondering if it had something to do with the fact that I got pregnant without being married to him also, could this be part of it? I know that their religion plays a big part in their reputation but isn’t a baby more important to them? I only have one other Polynesian friend and she isn’t from their culture so she says she can’t answer too much for me. I thought by asking here, I might find the answers I should need to move on and do what’s best for my son. I want him to know his father but am not going to sit around and wait for him. I was told by his sister that it’s nothing to do with me, not my fault and that he isn’t seeing anyone else. Any advice from you guys and your listeners would be appreciated. Thank you, New mum to a beautiful half Poly boy.
