Talal Alyan-Palestinian blogger I hope Palestinians and Syrians bring the revolutionary flag to protests. Refer anyone who whines, no, this is a protest about Palestinians to the list of over 3000 Palestinians murdered by Assad. The overwhelming majority (of Syrians) were killed by bombings, sieges, torture in regime prisons, or by shelling (all of which only the regime could be responsible for). Even if we assume every other death was by the rebels (and it certainly wasnt by any stretch of the imagination) than thats still only a fraction of the Palestinian casualties in Syria. Youre free to reference the two Palestinians HR organizations working on the ground or any of the international HR organization that have written about Yarmouk or Palestinians in Syria. Of course, some segments of opposition have committed crimes against Palestinians and of course we condemn it but you cant compare it to the systematic killing committed by regime. It is exactly like bringing up Hamas human rights violations against Gazans while Israel slaughters them in the hundreds. Its a false equivalency and absurd.
