You all know Son Pascal, an Italian singer who took the hearts of all girls in Kazakhstan. In addition, a new talented guy who came to conquer Almaty from Nigeria. We are excited to feature one of Kazakhstan’s rising stars named Rich-D. Recently he sang a song about love to the southern city of Kazakhstan -Almaty. The official video can be viewed online and already is broadcasting on most Kazakh media channels. https://youtube/watch?v=M7M30rwC37U Rich-D is promoting American, African and Kazakh culture altogether in his songs. This talented guy came to Kazakhstan in 2002 and fell in love with culture, city and traditions. Now he speaks three languages Kazakh, Russian and English fluently. We are tremendously fortunate for the opportunity to interview him, and ask him a few question about future plans, career and life in Kazakhstan. KW: How did you come to Almaty and what was your purpose? Rich: I came to Almaty in 2002 to study here. I studied finance and credit in University Of International Business and graduated in 2007. Since my graduation I realized that my potential was to explode here and I decided to follow to my potential, which is music. It took me a little while to get to know the culture, traditions and mentality of the country. At the end of a day, I am here and doing what I like. I have never been working in finance area and I don’t have any regrets because music is a work I would love to do the rest of my life, because music is my life. KW: Please tell our KazSocial readers about yourself. Rich: My real name is Richard and I am originally from Nigeria. I do R &B, hip hop style, pop music and dance music. I do speak Kazakh language. I love the language and I am doing pretty well in it, but there is no limit and I am continuing to improve it. I know Russian language as well and can speak very well. I started my career with songs in Kazakh because I considered myself being in Kazakhstan. My music career started here and I wanted to show the respect to Kazakh people. I have a lot of the passion to this country and I want to contribute by speaking and singing in Kazakh. It does not matter which nationality you have, we all united. I don’t consider myself as a foreigner. I do tell people that Kazakhstan is my second country. I want to say that, I really love that Kazakh people appreciate my efforts as well. KW: How did you start your musical career in Almaty? Is it challenge in Kazakhstan? Do you need a lot of money for that? Or maybe you need to know “right” connections? Rich: I realized my potential in Nigeria. My family is a strong Christians and that is why I used to sing in a church in Nigeria. But honestly, I did not take my talent much serious. I changed my mind here in Kazakhstan, because people noticed my talent and always told me that I am doing well in music. I went to different clubs, and played my music there and heard always only positive feedbacks about my tracks. And then I realized that I should make my day here and put my start in music in Kazakhstan. It wasn’t easy for me because I did not know the language. Step by step I studied languages, adopted the culture policies. My desire, confidence and passion helped me a lot and I knew that I could reach my dream because of my credentials. If you do something form your heart there is no way to fail, you are going to be successful anyways. Now I see the results and can say that I am doing very well here. I did not need a lot of money to promote myself. I started my career not because of money. It is all about dedication to what you actually do. You could spend a lot of money but in the end your product would not be a qualitative. My project is not cheap neither extremely expensive. I choose the quality and people appreciate me, which is my main expectation. And I am, so pray full for that! Of course, everything in this live is a about connections. And the right connections are very important in show business. I have to wait for the right connections. When you are talented and with right people these can actually push you forward. My producer, Zhomart Suleimenov, is my manager and he is the one producing my project. I had to take my time to get connected with such a respectful producer. He believes so much in me, in my potential and in my talent and that makes confident that I am unique. KW: You are the first African artist in Kazakh show business. How local people react that you sing song about Kazakhstan in Kazakh? Rich: I sing in Kazakh language and it’s been very positive and I am very happy about it. When you do something and see the positive feedback that gives you an extra motivations and ambitions to work more and harder. Also, it gives you an assurance that you are on a right truck. I feel very happy with what I did right now, especially with my last song about Almaty. This song is devoted to all Kazakhstanis people. This is the way how I can show my appreciation to all Kazakhstanis. I feel so grateful to read all the positive comments and feedback about my song. This is not the end – it is just the beginning! It is a long way to go further and work harder. I have a new song coming up song. It will be a dancing song in Kazakh language. I will shoot the video very soon. Overall, I have a lot of projects going on and ready and so excited about it. What do you think about Kazakh girls? Rich: Very interesting questions. Kazakh girls are amazing and very beautiful! I definitely can say that Kazakhstan has the most beautiful girls in the world. I love it here and thankful to God that He wished me to stay in Kazakhstan. You never know maybe I will have relationship with a girl from Kazakhstan, you never know your future. But now I am in my career and working hard. This is just the beginning and there are more and more successes in my music career to face! You can follow Rich-D on: Instagram- richdkz Twitter – richdkz VK- vk/richdkz
