Talented Pony Mare: $10,000 Koa is an 8 year-old 14.2h palomino pony. Both her dam and sire are from the Olds College breeding program in Alberta. Like her sire Mac, Koa has an excellent work ethic and a lot of heart! Koa has been started over low fences and gets very excited about jumping, which would make her a great show jumper or, with more training, a hunter. She has the typical flat-kneed movement desirable in hunter ponies and although she is small, she has a lovely canter stride. Koa is very light in the contact and will go in a frame even with beginner riders, plus she has auto changes. She is sensitive and forward but is kind to beginners and does not spook or buck. This pony has done it all; currently she is being trained dressage and schools solid first level movements and some second level movements. She loves to hack and is good to hack alone or with company. She stands nicely in the cross ties, stands for the farrier, is good for needles and deworming, loads and trailers calmly and bathes. She competed in hunter flat classes this summer as well as training level dressage. At her dressage show, her highest placing was second, beating some larger and more expensive horses! Koa has been a wonderful mare to work with because she is so smart and genuinely tries hard to please. She would do well with someone who plans to keep her in training as she requires the stimulation. Get noticed in and out of the show ring with this lovely girl!
