Talk about a cool thing to come home to at the end of a long week: This 5-Star Amazon review makes me go, Woo-hoo! Can I get a Woo-hoo, yall? Here we go: Let me start off by saying how amazing Beth Fehlbaum is and how moving her book was for me, and probably everyone who read it. This book was both inspiring and terribly tragic. Colby, the main character, is over weight and is the black sheep in her family, or probably referred to the fat black sheep by her family. Her world is going through a downward spiral: her father stole money and is cheating on his mom, her mom is the barbie doll that Satan made for his daughter, and her sisters are clones of her mom. Colby, her younger sister Drew, and her mom move with their Aunt Leah and cousin Ryan to a small little town. Now i dont wanna give anything away but this book expresses the harshness and cruel world we live in. The pain of insecurities pushed down our throats really effects people. While reading this amazing written piece of literature, i too began to feel insecure about my weight and image, because not everyone can be like Rachel. The way Fehlbaum makes you feel like you are Colby, that you are in her situation, is unlike no other. You feel the pain, the fear, even the annoyance Colby felt throughout the novel. And finally, towards the very end, our Colby sees the light at the end of a really dark tunnel. Thank you, reviewer! :D
