Talk about a miracle story...lets talk about Marley...who is still looking for her forever home! We found Marley in isolation at the high kill shelter...literally cowering into her blankets just trying not to be seen. She was TERRIFIED at the loud, intense, low touch, high kill shelter and had no idea what the world around her could be. We call Marley our miracle dog. She weighs only 7 lbs, is 7 months old and she is blind. When we first rescued her she was sweet and shy and desperate to connect but scared. She was malnourished and too afraid to take treats from the hand. Marley was fearful much of the time and would growl or snap if approached or handled without proper warning. She used to shake ALL the time and it was clear someone had been very, very unkind to her...even before dumping her blind and alone to die on the streets. Well...fast forward and she has turned into a sweet sassy little girl. She has now learned to play with the other dogs in the household and will give kisses to her foster mom and follows her everywhere. This is a huge improvement for her! At first she wouldnt be handled but will now allow herself to be picked up and gently petted. Marley needs a quiet, child-free home. We believe that her fear stems more from her fear of people than of her blindness. Marley is making progress every day.
