Talk about bending over backwards to find fault. I have seen the claim that the increase in mergers and acquisitions is yet another sign of the economy failing under President Obama. The reasoning seeming to be that in this "bad" economy these companies cannot survive on their own. Funny, an increase in mergers and acquisitions has long been viewed as a sign of a recovering economy. "But this is exactly why we should be encouraged by this fast start to M&A activity in 2013, especially if it keeps up in the coming months. It may mean that recent stock market gains are once again reflecting confidence about future profits, and not just central bank stimulus."
