Talk about upside-down ! Though this might appear to be in some way the same principle as net neutrality, it is the complete opposite. It means forcing people (or companies) to develop something for someone who they dont want to develop for. The self-regulating nature of the market is precisely what fixes this the best. Build a half-decent phone that many users want, and believe me - developers will (sooner or later) make apps for it. If Apple didnt have the power to distribute their apps to so many users, they would definitely release it to everyone. Best example - moving OSX from proprietary to x86_64 architecture. Now that their phones are on a downward slope, and its just a matter of time before their sales start to go down (if they dont get their heads out of their collective ass), theyll surely release their apps for Android. Just look at Microsoft.
