Talk abstract submission: If you are interested in presenting your work as a 15 minute talk, please submit a title and abstract (no more than 50 words) to Dr Giles Johnson [email protected] before Friday 19th July 2013. 2nd Annual BES – PEPG mini symposium 9th – 10th September 2013 – Manchester After the success of our first mini-symposium the 2013 annual PEPG symposium will take place at the University of Manchester from noon on the 9th to noon on the 10th September 2013. Space will also be available for posters – if you would prefer to show your work in this way, please let Giles know in advance. Talks are invited on all aspects of environmental plant physiology (landscape to molecular), especially from post graduates and post doctorate researchers. We will announce the selected speakers before the end of July. This meeting is FREE to attend but places are limited to 100 delegates, so please register early. To ensure a place at the meeting, please send an email to [email protected], stating your name and whether you require accommodation or please register using the online form below. A conference social will be held in a local venue on the evening of the 9th. We hope to be able to cover the on-site costs of all speakers. Members of BES and SEB can apply for travel support from the respective societies. LOCATION: the meeting will be held on the University of Manchester Oxford Road Campus. Talks and posters will be in the Michael Smith Building, off Dover St, M13 9PT. manchester.ac.uk/aboutus/travel/ TRAVEL: By train: The University is approx 20mins walk (10 min by shuttle bus No. 147) from Manchester Piccadilly Station. By air: Manchester Airport is a 20 min train ride from Piccadilly Station, with services every few minutes. Manchester has direct flights form many European cities. By car: Manchester is close to the M6 (North-South) and M62 East-West) motorways. Public (paid) car parks are available on campus. By bike: The University is close to Sustrans Route 6, with good links to the Trans Pennine Trail. On campus accommodation will be in George Kenyon Hall, 5 mins walk from the meeting venue. Space is limited, so if you are unsuccessful, alternative hotels can be found at visitmanchester/stay. The Holiday Inn Express, Oxford Rd, Ibis Hotel, Princess St and Days Hotel, Sackville St are all within easy walking distance of the conference venue.
