Talking about death and dying with children The Daffodil Project is an innovative new project being run from our Newcastle Hospice. The programme brings local primary school children aged 10-11 into the hospice to talk about the sensitive subjects of death and dying. Children are buddied up with a hospice patient with whom they work with during the four week course. The children learn about how a hospice is run, patient care, infection and disease control as well as death and dying. Last Friday, the hospice held a special session of the programme to invite the media along and give them a taster of how the project works.
