Talking about healing- I would like to share about my strongest experience so far on this trip. My friend was told that she had been the victim of bruharia / black magic, and that there was a dark entity living inside her. 4 days ago me and her had a very intimate session with the gringo shaman Ron Wheelock and with Borka Cafuk, a female shaman & healer, who specializes deposession -in removing negative entities from people. She is also one of the owners of the Yana Puma center near Iquitos. I have to be honest that I was at first sceptical about Ron- a white guy from Kentucky, doing shamanism in Peru. We did the ceremony in his private house, not in his center, in front of his Harley Davidson in his livingroom. I was soooo impressed by the work of both of them. It was the first time I witnessed an exorcism. There was a lot of energy being moved, and a lot of screaming and intense noises, and both of the shamans did so much work. They were singing and working with it in quite a few other ways. Apart from being imposed by their level of skill, I was so touched by the purity of their intention, and their genuine dedication to the healing work. It is because of people like that, that my scepticism about the Ayahuasca tourism / medicine work business, got minimized, and my fight in genuine healers with pure intentions got renewed. That night was also one of my stronger experiences so far. Thank you both so much! Also so surprized how common black magic / bruharia, seems to be here. A lot of powerful shamans seem to be bruhos, who use their powers against other shamans & people ... sometimes for ego, other times for hire. I guess this is the dark side of shamanism.
