Talking to a friend the other day made me realize how many people - TopicsExpress

Talking to a friend the other day made me realize how many people try to go through life carrying suitcases full of stuff they do not need. For example past hurts, defeat, mistakes, and especially forgiveness. Many of I know, have made mistakes that we truly regret but we cannot beat ourselves over and over for. Thats how the devil operates as in 1 peter 5:8 The bible says 8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [[d]in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Amplified bible version. The enemy will throw past hurts into your thought process and make you feel like you’re not worth of God’s love, but in Romans 8:35-39 English Standard Version (ESV) 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8 New International Version (NIV) 8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. So just standing upon the word of God here we are already overcomers! No longer do you have to be beaten by any past events, hurts, or wrongs we have done or someone has done to us. We were never meant to carry this weight. In 2 Chronicles 20:17 Told king Jehoshaphat the battle was not his own but the Lords. Wow what a wonderful thing knowing that your heavenly father is fighting for you. I encourage you to read all of chapter 20 and watch how God delivered King Jehoshaphat from danger. Ok so now that we have talked about a few of the things that slow us down on our journey of life that we carry around with us in our suitcases. The biggest one is unforgiveness. Unforgiveness can cause a heart to fail. Look at Exodus 8:32 where the scripture talks about Pharaohs heart being harden. If you have time read Exodus Chapter 3 to chapter 11 and you can see how one man’s unforgiveness killed him. Why? Because he was unwilling to change his heart. I understand that some things seem so horrible we feel as if we cannot forgive. The bible talks about how our heavenly father forgives our sins and remembers them no more. The bible also says in Matthew 6:15 if we do not forgive others neither can our father forgive us. Unforgiveness can do so much damage to one’s life. It can block blessing to even cause death as in Pharaohs case. In 1 Peter 5:7 God said cast ALL your cares upon Him. God never wanted us to carry this suitcase full of non-producing fruit. You would not put old, stale, or dried up fruit in your refrigerator so why would we carry potentially something so deadly to our body, mind, and spirit. I like to tell all my friends that there is no future in your past and today stop living life out of your rear view mirror. Start looking ahead and never miss what God has for your life. Know that your Gods greatest creation and that He could have chosen anyone but He chose you. Thats enough for a praise right there. Thank you father for making us so wonderfully made. I thank you for all that have read this entry and that you made them for a purpose as in Jeremiah 29:11. Help us all to have a hunger for you that will never be satisfied or a thirst that will never be quenched. Father I ask for fresh oil and fresh fire Lord. I decree that we are all armed with your word and that the enemy is rendered useless. Lord as we put on the armor of God help us guard our mind. Help us renew our mind daily and as King David create a clean heart oh God in us. In the matchless name of Jesus amen. Go in peace.
