Talking to a neighbor about my rescue et al, it came up that I was vegan. She said, Are those shoes made of leather? When I replied that they were, she told me that I wasnt really vegan. I explained that I had purchased them years ago and due to financial circumstances, I still wear them. I added that I would never buy leather shoes again. That was the end of the conversation. If she wasnt a neighbor, I woulda added, I love it how instead of examining your own lifestyle regarding eating and wearing animals when theres no need to, youd prefer to catch me not being perfect. As if being able to say Gotcha! to me, excuses you from any personal responsibility, well, eff you, you smug piece of shit. But, she was a neighbor.
