Talking with my dad about a trivia fact (there is more processing - TopicsExpress

Talking with my dad about a trivia fact (there is more processing power in a Texas Instrument 83 calculator than in the computer that landed Apollo 11 on the moon), he told me about when he was hired to work on Apollo 13. His job would have been to work on the spaceships orbital as well as calculate the reentry degree so it wouldnt skip when landing on the moon (like a rock skips on the surface of water). He even went to Washington DC to buy a house with my mother, but she suffered such bad allergies from the pollen there that he declined the offer, and stayed working in upstate New York for IBM. I loved seeing the light in my fathers eyes when describing how he could have helped the first person land on the moon -- but that he was glad he changed his mind for my mothers wellbeing. My dads awesome.
