Tamale Mirundi on tension as contract expires After serving President Museveni for the last ten years, observers say Tamale Mirundi is living on tension as his contract has expired. Presidential Press Secretary (PPS) Tamale Mirundi has disclosed that he got wealth by being close to President Yoweri Museveni in State House. Mirundi made the breath taking revelations to fellow journalists at the house of the Uganda Journalist Association (UJA) in Kampala. He said, I entered State House when I had one suit. But look at what I have achieved. The President educated me and my children in some of the best universities in Scotland, The round of praise was interpreted by some journalist as an attempt by the PPS to coax the president to reappoint him for another term. However Tamale said, he is genuinely expressing himself. Museveni is a good man. Even when I leave State House, I will not attack Museveni. He has done so much for me and my family. Living in Tension? After serving President Yoweri Museveni for the last ten years, observers say Tamale Mirundi is living on tension as his contract to serve the President as his official spokesperson has expired. Mirundi a few weeks ago sent feelers that his contract was coming to an end. He however said that he was willing to continue serving the president if given the opportunity to. When an assistant was appointed to his office to serve in the docket of social media, Tamale felt this was a signal that the president was planning to take him off his position. However the appointee Sarah Kagingo has had her job clearly cut and there has been no clash between her and Mirundi. Tamale Mirundi has now told fellow journalists that My contract ended. It is now up to the president to either renew it or not. He said he believes he has done well and expects the president to renew his contract basing on his performance.
