Tanks have incurred a lot of investment from the defence budget. For developing countries, breaking off from a strategic concept built on armour warfare is not going to be easy. Moreover, the alternative - armed drones, helicopters, FGAs - in large numbers to offset the lumbering tanks is going to be prohibitively costly. If this concept gains momentum, I see a bright future for Mechanised Infantry. But in near future tankman need not worry. Till then Tally Ho.
