Tara here from the SC Crew. This happened to me in my city- Columbus, Ohio, USA. We stopped for a late dinner after visiting my Moms best friend, Matt, in the hospital. It was near closing time, we were all tired and in poor spirits, and the only other person in the restaurant was a frowning elderly woman eating alone right behind us. Certainly not the environment for a profound experience, right? WRONG! After dinner I heard the woman order a piece of cheesecake for dessert. Our server brought out two pieces, one for her and one for himself, and asked if he could join her. Over the next 30 minutes, while checking on us in between, he asked her about her life, her struggles, and her advice for future generations. (Her advice was, Dont be serious!) It was obvious how long it had been since shed had someone to listen and she was so excited to have his company. Fran is far from the only one out there who needs a Jeremy. Be a Jeremy.
