Friday 9 May Fine, although partly cloudy in the north, before patchy rain develops about the northwest in the evening. Cold to very cold at first, with areas of frost and patchy fog, then a cool to mild day. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening about the west during the day. Weather Situation A high centred just to the east of Tasmania will slowly move away across the Tasman Sea overnight with light winds and mostly clear skies bringing another cold night in many areas. As the high moves further away during Friday, northerly winds will freshen as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will then cross the state on Saturday, bringing a westerly change. A weaker front is expected to move past the south of the state on Sunday morning with another high to approach the northwest of the state during the afternoon and evening.
