A wild tree that grows well from the Yucatán Peninsula all the way to northern Argentina, Palo Santo is revered for its healing properties and abundant aromatic compounds. The wood from the tree is used in several ways including incense, as a tea, and the manufacture of barrels used for aging wine and beer. Clandestines Tasty Palo adds this unique wood to an Imperial American Brown Ale base. Strong notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel and hints of chocolate create a foundation for the incredible, perfumed essence of the Palo Santo wood. Aging the beer with this wood adds a potent bouquet of Vanilla, Caramel, Oranges and other citrus, Lilacs, and Caraway seeds. It is hard to overstate just how much character is possessed by Palo Santo wood. Vital Stats 1.090 OG / 9.6% ABV / 46 IBU
