Tata Teleservices, MTS India and Aircel have kicked off merger talks in the country. If the deal goes through, the combined entity will have 15.4 percent market share in the Indian mobile market. The MTS-Aircel-TTSL combine will become the third largest telecom player based on market share. The current market leader Bharti Airtel – promoted by billionaire Sunil Mittal – has 21.86 percent share. In the second position is Vodafone India with 17.75 percent market share in the domestic mobile market.
