Tawhid & shirk are total opposites of each other. If someone wants to prove shirk is being commited then the rejection of tawhid must be available, ie the type of shirk. Shirk is a clear & specific term & cannot be applied on anything ie [ mawlid celebration]. We cannot say day & night are the same or day is night & night is day they opposites. Therefore to apply one there must be a rejection of the other. To specify & identify the difference between tawhid & Shirk, before we comment we must measure which category it applies with. In short to accuse someone of commiting shirk you are affectively taking them out of the ambit of islam by calling them kafir a disbeliever.
