Tax Day: Inflation-adjusted federal tax revenues hit a record - TopicsExpress

Tax Day: Inflation-adjusted federal tax revenues hit a record $1,320,793,000,000 in the first half of fiscal 2014, but the federal government still ran a $413,264,000,000 deficit during that time, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement for March. We took in, during 1/2 a fiscal year, more than was spent during the entire year in 1990. And still ran nearly a half trillion dollar deficit. What the f*ck? (And before you tell me Im mining 25 year old data, we only spent $1.8 trillion in 2000).
