Tax Office workers say the agencys massive job cuts have hurt its ability to catch Australias corporate tax cheats. Public servants at the ATOs tax compliance unit have responded to a union survey with 75 per cent of them saying budget cuts have affected the Tax Offices capacity to monitor and audit companies rated a risk of tax avoidance. This has come up again after the thousands of ATO workers were given voluntary redundancies. I have just learnt due to their work conditions so many people put in for a redundancy because they are treated like dirt. The ones that have been there for decades which is standard in the public sector would have be entitled to massive payouts. In the short term scheme of things their spending from these payouts would have shot through the roof. From the looks of it according to this their short term spending isnt the only problem on their hands. They now have no means to recover that money from all these public service payouts. Were talking 15,000 people or more. This was their plan all along by the Liberals, IPA and their masters. They dont want the ATO on their backs, they want the ATO to massively inhibit and hurt small business and of course use these revenue problems as an excuse to rip more money out of people. DR
