Taxes Figuring what the government spends-out is approximately - TopicsExpress

Taxes Figuring what the government spends-out is approximately what we pay-in in taxes, then we can divide the government expenditures by our average income to find out what the tax rates are that we actually pay. I calculate approximately 27% federal, 12% state, and 13% local. Thus, we pay a total of about 52%. Thats on average, of course; although it can be argued that we all pay about the same rate when ALL the hidden taxes are identified and counted. But even so, 52% is too high, in my opinion. The tax system should be simplified, and we all should be given a receipt for the total amount of taxes we actually pay.
