Taxi drivers are single-handedly destroying this town for the people who live here and the tourists. Central, Dec 27th - tens of people are in line waiting, many vacant taxis drive past with their lights off, as soon as they hit the corner of BCM they turn the lights back on and start negotiating with desperate tourists. One driver asked me for 200 MOP from Central to Cotai strip. This poor traffic lady has no authority, as she tells tourists they do not have to negotiate to catch a taxi and directs them to the official line where no taxis have stopped in 20 minutes. And the drivers are shameless about their illegal cartel-like activities.
