Taxi rides are usually painful especially with a running meter but todays $30 taxi ride was a planned one that I felt was the best taxi ride of my life. I ended up in the taxi of the singer of a classic band and he bears the name Batchelor, which is a very well-acclaimed name of the past. Turns out, his dad was the right hand man of our MM Lee. My dad, right hand man of MM Lee. And myself, his son? Just a taxi driver. So you see, success doesnt lie in the family or something. If He wants you to succeed, He will. Unfortunate for me because I had a bad past. I know I am a Muslim, but Ill be frank with you, I bought numbers and thought I could strike it rich. I got some money but you know what, God is fair. He gave me money, but He took away many other aspects of my life like success and happiness. I faltered. It was only after four years ago when I stopped that my life got back on track. He helped me. I am a single father who has to take on the role of the sole breadwinner and the househusband but I have been receiving so much help from people around. Where do you think all these help came from? Him. Thats why I tell my children they constantly need to have faith and do their prayers. The young ones at their age never listen. I feel sad as a father that they do not do that because it will reflect badly upon myself as a father. I am truly worried for them. A 20-minute journey felt only like minutes. At the end of it, he lifted his hands up and prayed for my well-being, exchanged numbers with me and told me how much he would appreciate it if I could one day get in touch with his children and invite them over for the events I am in. This was a beautiful closure to Saturday. Sir, thank you.
